When Mom is away

Joey's idea of bath time when I am gone...

Just for Fun

~These are some of my favorite pictures of Emery over the past few months~

~emery and pa pa~

Basketball

Joey grew up playing basketball, so since Emery was old enough to hold a ball he has encouraged her to "play." This particular night she was really into it!

School Days

Emery and I are back in school for the fall. She is going two days a week at our church. I was nervous about the drop off because the staff now comes to our car to get her out. Well, the first day was much worse for me than for Emery! She went right to her teacher and said "bye mommy." She loves to go and asks every morning if it is time for school!

School is going great for me as well. I am working at the Shepherd Center this semester and love it. It is a catastrophic care hospital for patent's with acquired brain injuries and spinal cord injuries. It has been a very humbling time for me, it reminds me each day how fragile life truly is!

Its is also pretty funny, when Emery is upset with me or if she just wants some extra attention from Nan (Joey's mom, who watches her when I am at school or the hospital) she says to me "mommy don't you need to take a test at school?"

~Here are a few pictures from her first day of preschool~

Emery and Kennedy

The three of us headed to Atlanta for Joey's summer work party. We don't head south of Woodstock often and when Emery saw the Atlanta skyline she said: "look mommy, MOUNTAINS!!" Emery had so much fun with Kennedy...here are a few cute pictures...

Good Friends

Shortly after the first semester of nursing school I meet a great new friend, Jessica, she and I have shared some pretty ridiculous, funny and sad moments together! We recently celebrated my b-day at Sips and Strokes...here are some fun pictures. Oh she and her fiance Jason joined us at the Jack Johnson concert! Here's to good friends!

Children's Museum

Emery and I spent the day at the Children Museum in Atlanta
these are some of my favorite pictures.

Emery and her new found "language"

Well, Emery is now 2 1/2. She may be one of the funniest little girls I have ever meet. Over the past few months she has started talking more than I could have ever imagined. She makes me laugh all day long with some of the things she says....

Me: "Emery lets not bring our sippy cup in the bathroom there are a lot of germs..."
Em: "okay mommy" two seconds later sippy cup is on the floor dangerously close to the toilet
Me: "Oh Em, now there are germs all over it!"
Em: "oh man mommy, party fool!"

We went on a family vacation with some of our close friends who have just recently entered the world of parenthood. On the day before we left Emery had a nonstop conversation with Eric. I am sure she must have said "Hey Ewric" four or five dozen times!

This morning it was raining like crazy...
Em: "Mommy lets play outside with my golf clubs"
Me: "Wells, its raining right now, maybe later"
Em: "BUMMER!!!"

Every night!
Mommy or Daddy: "okay Em it's time for bed"
Em: " no mommy-daddy I just want to snuggle you on the couch"
~she has learned the value of a good snuggle!!!

Our good friends have a sweet little girl "Sadie Jane." Emery just loves her, she had tubes put in her ears the other day so Joey and Em went to go see her. Shortly before they left Sadie was getting pretty sleepy, Emery said "ohhh, shes so cute, I just eat her all up!"
